Light Liquid Paraffin Oil Ip is a highly paraffinic mixture of liquid saturated hydrocarbons that are extracted from petroleum. In daylight, Light Liquid Paraffin oil is transparent and fluorescence-free.

When chilled, it is flavourless, tasteless, and odourless. Highly refined light liquid paraffin oil that has undergone hydrotreatment has a high flash point, great thermal stability, and is soluble in both chloroform and the solvent ether.

Light liquid paraffin (LLP), also known as mineral oil or Paraffinum Liquidum, is a transparent, colorless, oily, and nearly odorless mineral oil that has many uses in cosmetics: 

Skincare

LLP can be used as an emollient to soften skin and prevent water loss from the outer layer of skin, which can relieve dryness. LLP can be used in shampoos, conditioners, and hairstyling products to hydrate hair, make it shinier, and give it more bounce. It can also increase hair thickness and promote hair growth. 

Thickening cosmetics

LLP can be used to thicken cosmetics like lipstick because of its waxy texture.
